I greet each morning with ‘this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.’ But I admit I have my favorites. I’m particularly glad that God made Autumn.
The crisp start of the mornings. The warmth of the day, treasured as I know in my part of the country that will dwindle into the nippy weather of winter months. The gentle shower of multi-hued leaves, treating the eye and later the ear as they crunch underfoot. Hiking without the intrusion of so many bugs.
The sights, sounds and smells of harvest. As a farmer’s daughter, I’ll always equate bringing in the crop vitality to this time of year. Football (yes, I’m a fan.) Watching a campfire, where the side away from the fire might be chilly, but the side next to it is toasty warm. The anticipation of the upcoming holidays. I’m also one who listens to Christmas music in October.
I rejoice in all days. But for me, there’s just something special about Autumn.
How do I sign up for your blog. Thank you. Susan
